I understand the Government wants infant class sizes to be 30 or below. What does this mean?
An act was brought in in 1998 that said local authorities and school governing bodies must make sure that by September 2001, infant classes have no more than 30 pupils in them.
If a school has an admission number of more than 30, the head teacher would have to organise mixed class groups in reception, Year 1 or Year 2 in order to keep to the act.
If you have any questions about this, please contact the Admissions Officer on 01642 526605.
