What if I want my child to go to a Church of England primary school?
The decision on admissions to voluntary-aided Church of England schools rests with the governing body of the school.
You will need to apply online or fill in a common application form and
return it to us, the local authority. Church of England primary schools
give places according to their admissions policy. Copies of policies can be
obtained from the VA school or on our website.
If you live outside the admission zone and you are a practising Anglican,
they will consider your application favourably.
To check if you should be applying for primary or secondary school, please contact School Admissions on (01642) 526605
Further information may be required which the school will request from yourself, for e.g. Baptismal certificate
If you are turned down, you can appeal against the decision. If you want to
appeal, you should complete the form that is with your refusal letter,
saying why you do not agree with the decision and send your form back to
the school by the date specified.
You can get a booklet explaining your rights and the appeal procedure from
School Admissions by phoning (01642) 526605.
