How do I dispose of asbestos cement material?

Domestic asbestos waste only may be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centre on Haverton Hill Road (A1046) Haverton, Stockton, operated for the Council by SITA.

The site opening hours are as follows:-

1st November - 31 March [winter period] - 8am to 6pm [Monday to Sunday].

1st April - 31 October [summer period] - 8am to 7pm [Monday to Sunday].

Asbestos sheets should be wrapped in polythene before delivery to the site

Please telephone the Household Waste Recycling Centre beforehand so that they can prepare for the delivery and give you any special instructions the number is 01642 202300 or Mobile 07730 816770 .

People using vans to deliver to the site will require a permit; they will have to make a declaration that the waste is from domestic premises.
