How do I get a private street adopted?
Private Street Works
The responsibility for the maintenance of a private street rests with the people who own the homes in front of the street.
Should you wish to have it adopted by the Council , as highway maintainable at public expense, it will be necessary for all those responsible to finance the work required to bring it to an acceptable standard.
This will include the provision of an acceptable carriageway, footway construction, drainage and street lighting.
