What is a general maintenance repair?
CFYA are only responsible for general maintenance and carry out safety inspections to pick up any repairs for action. A repair will be carried out on an area known as a Defect which is dependant on specific depths/sizes to determine if they require attention these are known as 'Actionable Defects' and the specific sizes are known as intervention levels which are taken from the Highways Act and National codes of Best practice these are:- 20mm or deeper on a footpath or 40mm or deeper on a road.
General repairs are carried out to any street furniture or street name plates when these are deemed as being unsafe or unreadable although where possible aesthetic works will also be carried out.
