The drains are blocked/smelling?
If the drains that are blocked/Smelling are on private property then it is the responsibility of that land owner to have the drains cleared (i.e if you are a private resident you will need to contact a drainage company or if you are a tenant you will need to contact your landlord). If the drains that are blocked/Smelling are on the public highway and are the main sewerage drains then this needs to be reported to Northumbrian Water on 0845 7171100.
If the drains that are blocked/Smelling are the surface drains on the public highways that remove the rain water from the roads (known as gulleys) please contact our customer services team.
