When does the Council grit?

The decision to salt will be triggered by a forecast of wintry conditions (frost, ice or snow) and the timing of the operation will be determined by current weather and road conditions and the predicted time of arrival of the freezing weather.

When salting is necessary, most of it is done during the evening or very early morning.
