Attachment to Earnings, Income Support or Pension Credits

Why have you set up two attachment to my earnings orders?

If you have more than one liability order outstanding the Council are allowed to set up a maximum of two.

If the deductions from your earnings are causing you financial hardship then you should contact Customer Services on 01642 397108 to discuss your situation.

In certain circumstances, after a means enquiry has been held, and it is agreed that the two attachments are causing financial difficulties it may be agreed to set the second deductions up after the first order has been paid in full.

Council Tax is a priority debt however, and it takes precedence over any loans or other credit agreements you may have. It would be expected that you contact your other creditors to arrange a repayment plan to allow for the attachment to your earnings.
