Bailiff Action - Council Tax

What can the Bailiff do to me?

The purpose of the Bailiffs' visit is to:

· get you to pay your Council Tax or Business Rate account.

· identify goods that belong to you which can be sold to pay the debt.

The Bailiff CANNOT break into your house by force, but he CAN come in through an open or unlocked door or window. He can also take any of the belongings outside the house (for example a car parked on the street).
