ROADWORKS REPORT

WEEK ENDING: 21st March 2010

New Works

Peveril Road / Arundel Road, Billingham

As a result of Northumbrian Water carrying out essential maintenance works, a temporary closure is required on Peveril Road / Arundel Road between Monday 15th March and Friday 30th April.

The closure is in effect from adjacent to number 11 Arundel Road in a southerly direction for approximately 75 metres to number 31 Arundel Road and also from the Peveril Road junction with Arundel Road in a westerly direction for approximately 40 metres to the turning area adjacent to number 18 Peveril Road.

Access for pedestrians and emergency services will be maintained at all times during the works. A diversion route for vehicles will be signed via Corfe Crescent, Skipton Road and Ludlow Road.

A1027 Yarm Road/A66 Over Bridge

As a result of A One carrying out essential bridge maintenance works, temporary lane closures are required on the A1027 Yarm Road under the A66 from Monday 15th March until 19th March off peak.

Dover Road, Ragworth

As a result of SBC/Arup carrying out a Bridge inspection on Tuesday 16th March temporary traffic signals are required on the bridge over the A177 Durham Road on Dover Road Ragworth for one half a day (pm) only off peak.

Bowesfield Crescent, Stockton

As a result of SBC carrying out a Bridge inspection on Tuesday 16th March, Stop/Go boards will be in operation under the bridge/A135 1825 Way on Bowesfield Crescent Stockton for half a day (am) only off peak.

A1027 Hartburn Avenue, Stockton

As a result of SBC's Direct Service Highways installing a pedestrian refuge outside 76 Hartburn Avenue, Stockton, temporary traffic signals are required off peak from Wednesday 17th March until Friday 26th March.

Westwood Lane, Ingleby Barwick

As a result of NWL/ Lumsden & Carroll replacing a defective manhole cover and Frame outside 20 Westwood Lane, Ingleby Barwick, on Thursday 18th March, temporary traffic signals are required for one day only off peak.

Weaverham Road, The Glebe

As a result of NWL/ Lumsden & Carroll replacing a defective manhole cover and Frame outside 67 Weaverham Road, The Glebe Norton, on Thursday 18th March, temporary traffic signals are required for one day only off peak.

Northumberland Road / Thorntree Road, Thornaby

As a result of CE Electric carrying out essential cable installations, temporary traffic signals are required on Northumberland Road/Thorntree Road, Thornaby, on Thursday 18th March for one day only off peak.

Redcar Road / Thorntree Road, Thornaby

As a result of CE Electric carrying out essential cable installations, temporary traffic signals are required on Redcar Road/Thorntree Road, Thornaby, on Friday 19th March for one day only off peak.

Continuing Works


NORTH MIDDLESBROUGH ACCESSIBILITY SCHEME

Works to replace the bridge parapet fencing on the westbound carriageway are now complete and 3 lanes across Newport Interchange have re-opened to traffic. Further minor works will be carried out overnight.

A66 MAINTENANCE WORKS

Lane closures are necessary each Sunday at various locations on the A66 for detailed inspection works, gully cleaning, and repairs to street lighting etc.

Maintenance works involving near-side lane closures, are programmed on Sunday 21/03/2010, on the A66 eastbound carriageway, from the A19 Interchange slips down Cannon Park exit slip.

A66 - TRAFFIC LOOPS

Automatic traffic / speed counter loops will be reinstated on the westbound carriageway of the A66, east of the A19 Interchange, on Sunday 21/03/2010. Traffic management will be in place.

Oxbridge Lane / Oxbridge Avenue, Stockton

As a result of Northumbrian Water/Lumsden and Carroll carrying out main sewer upgrades, from Monday 15th March, works will continue on site. Works site traffic will be in operation at peak times until 19th March.

Kirk Street / West Street, Stillington

As a result of Northumbrian Water/Lumsden and Carroll carrying out main sewer upgrades, a temporary road closure will continue to be in operation from Monday 15th March for 1 week. A diversion route will be in operation.

B1274 Junction Road, Norton

As a result of United Utilities / Northern Gas networks carrying out essential gas pipe replacement works, work will continue on the B1274 Junction Road, Norton on Monday 15th March all week. No traffic management is required but works vehicles will reduce lane widths at peak times.

A178 Seaton Carew Road

As a result of Lumsden and Carroll / NWL carrying out trial holes on the A178 Seaton Carew Road, temporary traffic signals are required for continuing works on the A178 Seaton Carew Road from Saturday 13th March to Monday 15th March. The signals will be 24 Hour operation, manually controlled at peak times.

South Street, Stillington

As a result of Northumbrian Water / Lumsden and Carroll carrying out main sewer upgrades, temporary traffic signals are required on South Street, Stillington from Monday 15th March for approx 1 further week.

A135 Yarm Road, Eaglescliffe

As a result of SBC/Tarmac National Contracting carrying out essential repairs and resurfacing on the A135 Yarm Road (Witham Avenue to Station Road), temporary traffic signals are required on Saturday and Sunday 13-14th March 2010 and will be manually controlled.

A19

As a result of routine works being carried out by Autolink, temporary lane 1 closures are required on the A19 north bound from 1km south of the A689 from Monday 12th October to Monday 29th March between 20:00 and 06:00 hrs.

A1044 Low Lane / Leven Bank Road

As a result of structural damage to Leven Bridge, a closure is required to carry out essential repair works. The closure is expected to last approximately 8 to 12 weeks.

A diversion route will be in place with traffic from Yarm using A19 Northbound from Crathorne Interchange to A174 Parkway and traffic to Yarm using reverse route on A19 southbound.
Stockton Council has put in place alternative arrangements for pupils, travelling to Conyers School. Two additional buses will be used to collect pupils who would normally be on the second bus trip. Buses will leave Ingleby Barwick five minutes earlier each morning and leave school at 3.50pm until further notice.
