If you require further information regarding the provision of traffic lights or how to have a new signal controlled crossing installed, please use the contact listed to the right side of this text.

Sites for new signalised junctions or crossings are identified from accident records at a particular area. A detailed study of the sites to assess the problems and possible solutions then takes place. If these studies show that signals or crossings are warranted then a detailed design of traffic signals is provided by Middlesbrough Borough Council.

Middlesbrough Borough Council is the lead authority within the local area for the design and maintenance of traffic lights/crossings.

Traffic Light/Road Crossings Maintenance

In conjunction with Middlesbrough Borough Council this authority maintain 49 signalised controlled junctions and 57 signalised pedestrian crossings.

If you spot a traffic light not working or need to know more about the maintenance of traffic lights/crossing please contact us.

Also if you feel there should be a pedestrian crossing provided in an area let us know by sending an e mail to transport@stockton.gov.uk
