Stockton High St, Riverside Festival Arrangements

Part of Stockton High Street, between the two bus turning loops, will be closed to buses at the following times, due to events associated with the 2008 Riverside Festival. Most of the arrangements are essentially the same as in recent years, in that the bus stops at the south end of the High Street will not be used by the majority of services. (see below).

  • Thursday 31 July - 11am - midnight
  • Friday 1 August - All day
  • Saturday 2 August - All day
  • Sunday 3 August - All day

On Saturday 2 August between 12pm - 1pm, part of Church Road will be subject to a "managed" closure for the Community Carnival. It is possible that the north end of the High Street will be affected during this time, and buses will need to pick/up set down at the nearest available stops to the High Street.

On Sunday 3 August and Monday 4 August between 12pm - 6pm, there will be performances in Church Road, but it is not intended to implement any road closures.

Please also note that Riverside Road is closed CONTINOUSLY from 7pm on Tuesday 29 July until 7pm on Tuesday 5 August, meaning that it cannot be used as an alternative route during High Street closures.

The arrangements below will apply at all times when the High Street closures are in force. Please note that the stops at the South end of the High Street will NOT be in use at any time when the High Street is closed, apart for seasonal services from stand 3, services 504/X66 from stand 2, service X6 from stand 3, and other services which normally only serve the South end.
