Published in July 2006, the Five-Year Delivery Report documents the progress made by the Council and its partners across the Borough over the life of the First Stockton-on-Tees Local Transport Plan (that is, between April 2001 and March 2006).
Key achievements included:
- The decline in bus patronage within the Borough was restricted to 2.4% per annum between 2001/02 and 2005/06 (compared to an annual decline of 3.7% between 2001/02 and 2004/05 across the North East as a whole).
- Passenger footfall at the Borough's six railway stations increased by 54.4% between 1999/2000 and 2005/06.
- Cycle trips at the Borough's automatic count sites rose by 32.8% between 2001/02 and 2005/06.
- Road traffic growth within the Borough was restricted to 2.7% between 2000 and 2005.
- The total number of killed and seriously injured casualties within the Borough fell by 19.3% between 1994/98 and 2005.
- No Air Quality Management Areas were declared within the Borough over the life of the Plan.
- 'Secure' status was achieved for 18 of the 19 Council-operated car parks in Stockton town centre, resulting in an 81% decrease in recorded incidents of vehicle-related crime between 2001/02 and 2004/05
- 100% effective coverage of the local bus fleet by CCTV cameras was achieved in 2005/06.
