A new bus pass travel scheme for people over 60 years was introduced on April 1st 2008. Anyone using the pass can now travel anywhere in England free of charge.
If you are travelling anywhere within the Tees Valley (Stockton, Middlesbrough, Darlington, Hartlepool and Redcar & Cleveland) the bus pass can be used at any time. If you wish to travel further afield you will need to contact the local council in the area that you wish to travel to find out if they state travel time restrictions. The new bus pass does not cover travel on National Express or other private coach services nor does it apply to rail services.
Stockton Borough residents that have already registered for an over 60s bus pass should now have received the new bus pass. If you have not yet received your pass please contact us.
People who are 60 years or over and have not yet registered for a bus pass will need to call into our office between 9.00am - 4.00pm with the following information:
- A document that shows that you live within the Stockton Borough. (utility bill, driving licence)
- A document that shows your date of birth. (birth certificate, passport, driving licence)
