Bus Pass Information - Older Person's

The age that you qualify to apply for an older person's concessionary bus pass is set to change on 6th April 2010.  Find out more about changes to the older person's bus pass scheme here.

If you have reached pension age and you are travelling anywhere within the Tees Valley (Stockton, Middlesbrough, Darlington, Hartlepool and Redcar & Cleveland) you can travel free of charge at anytime using your older person's bus pass.

If you wish to travel further afield you will need to contact the local council in the area that you wish to travel, to find out if they state travel time restrictions. This concessionary bus pass does not cover travel on National Express or other private coach services nor does it apply to rail services.

To register for a bus pass you will need to call into one of our offices (details and opening times listed at the end of this page) - with the following information:

  • A document that shows that you live within the Stockton Borough  (utility bill, driving licence).
  • A document that shows your date of birth (birth certificate, passport, driving licence).

The older persons concessionary bus pass is free of charge. We will take a photograph of you when you call into the office with the information that we require - we do not charge for the photograph.
