Energy & Water Management

Energy and Water Management staff provide a wide range of services aimed at keeping gas, oil, electricity and water costs to a minimum for Council buildings and also reducing the environmental impact of burning fossil fuels.

Technical Officers undertake energy audits, provide advice, assist in grant applications, examine selection of fuels including 'green' energy and produce performance reports. Consumption and cost data is recorded on speacilist software for budgetary calculation and monitoring purposes and to ensure accounts are on the most competitive fuel purchasing contracts. Four Building Energy Management Systems are operated which allows for time and temperature parameters to be changed centrally along with the monitoring of critical alarms (boiler lockout, pump trip, high temperature, etc.) and electronic pulse metering.
