Workforce Development

The Workforce Development Team (Children's Services) are responsible for delivering the objectives set out in Stockton's Children's Workforce Strategy.  The team consists of three distinct areas; Childcare and Early Years, Safeguarding and Social Care and Schools.

Mission Statement

The Workforce Development Team (Children's Services) will provide a quality service to develop and maintain a skilled, competent and confident children's workforce for Stockton-on-Tees.

Aim

To deliver high quality training to the workforce in order that they can successfully provide effective services to children, young people, their families and carers.

The Workforce Development Team will:

  • Be professional and courteous in our service delivery to you;
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to your enquiry;
  • Provide information about your course arrangements before you attend;
  • Details of all course will be clearly outlined in the respective training brochures;
  • Review the training courses with participants to ensure that expectations and objectives   

     have been met and obtain feedback to assist in our evaluation processes;

  • Discuss any additional training needs;
  • Treat all customers and colleagues with equality, dignity and respect.

    Contacting the Team

    By telephone - we will aim to answer all telephone calls within 5 rings in a polite and professional manner.  A prompt call back will be arranged when we cannot respond to your enquiry immediately.

    By e-mail - we will acknowledge all e-mail enquiries within 1 working day and will aim to provide a full response in plain English within 10 working days.  Where an Officer is away for the workplace alternative contact details will be provided via Out of Office reply.

    By letter - a response will be provided within 5 working days where this is not possible a full response will be provided within 10 working days.

    Course Applications - confirmation of your training requests will be issued within 5 working days.

    Complaints

    The Workforce Development are committed to provide a high standard of customer service, however we realise that in any service things can occasionally go wrong.  If you have a problem or are unhappy with the service provided, please contact the relevant Team Manager. You will receive an acknowledgement followed by a full response within 10 working days.  

    If you are unsatisfied with the response please contact in writing the Workforce Development Team (Children's Services) Manager.  You will receive an acknowledgement and following an investigation receive a full response within 20 working days.
