Key Dates for the Selection and Recruitment Process

From 1 September

Applications received via the TDA Application Portal and then processed by the ITT Administrator

Last working day of November

Closing date for applicants

Mid December

Stage 1 and Stage 2 selection completed

January

Stage 3 Selection:

  • Qualifications and photographic identification check

  • Day session - candidates will be invited to attend to complete various tasks which will be assessed. Tasks will include: written task; oral communication task; group task; ICT task; subject knowledge for secondary applicants; numeracy activity for primary
  • Letter sent to unsuccessful candidates at Stage 3

Early February

 

Mid February (to end of April)

 

Beginning to middle of June

Information from Select 3 made available to partnership schools

Partnership schools organize interviews directly with candidates


Letter sent to all unsuccessful candidates

End of April

All school-based interviews should be completed by this date

May

  • All trainees selected for following year
  • Feedback from schools on selection
  • Feedback from trainees on selection procedures
  • Recruitment and selection statistics gathered and analysed
 

Beginning of June

All selection and interview documentation should be copied by the school and sent to the Partnership Administrator with the Partnership agreement for the appropriate year
