Education Improvement Service

Stockton Borough Council believes that "Every individual child deserves the best opportunity to fulfil their physical, emotional, intellectual and social potential" and has captured this vision in its underpinning statement to the Stockton Children's Trust of "No Child Left Behind."

Central to this ethos, therefore, is the commitment to ensure that every learning establishment in the Borough should be of the highest standard.  This means that Stockton Borough Council is pledged to raise standards across all schools and settings and the Education Improvement Service works in partnership with schools and settings to achieve this.

The Education Improvement Service in Stockton has a commitment to ensuring that all children make progress in relation to their starting points and beyond.  To achieve this, the service monitors the outcomes of schools and settings to inform a targeted approach to intervention and support.  It then intervenes with intensive packages of support to galvanise rapid school improvement and build capacity within the school for sustainable improvement.  This support is sourced from a wide range of providers including other schools.  The Education Improvement Service is committed to providing an ongoing service to challenge the performance of all schools and command a significant position in the market of school improvement.
