Stockton-on-Tees Local Authority has fully embraced the Change for Children agenda, ensuring a clear, shared understanding and focus on improving learning and the wider well-being of all children and young people. We are committed to ensuring that every child should have every opportunity to shine. Stockton children and young people should feel safe and confident that their needs are recognised and understood from their vulnerability in early years to their preparation for adolescence and adulthood. The driving ambition of "No child left behind" is achieved where every school is a good school. To ensure that this is achieved, the identification and dissemination of effective practice is a key element in the Stockton-on-Tees' strategy for supporting school improvement. We recognise and celebrate the many strengths to be found in Stockton's schools and aim to encourage senior leaders, staff and governors to collaborate within and across to continuously develop best practice. The School Effectiveness Service plays a key role in identifying effective practice and facilitating dissemination between schools and also in helping schools to access models of good practice from further afield.
