ANNUAL REVIEW

The purpose of an Annual Review Meeting is to look at your child's progress and determine if their Statement of Special Educational Needs is still correct and appropriate.

There are many people who may be able to contribute to your child's annual review. The Headteacher and yourself should discuss whom you would like to attend the Annual Review Meeting.

The following points should be considered at the Annual Review Meeting:

  • Ensure your child is fully included and if not how can that be accomplished ?
  • If your child is in specialist provision are they ready to be included in a mainstream environment?
  • Is the Statement still needed?
  • Has your child's needs changed?
  • Is any further action needed and by whom?

14+ TRANSITION PLANS

The 14+ review of the Statement should be held in year 9 and involve the agencies that play a major role in your child's life during the post school years. This review is needed to prepare your child for post 16 provision.
