The Hearing and Visually impaired service is staffed by teachers specially trained in working with children who are hearing or visually impaired. It provides support for children in LA maintained provision up to the age of 19 and for pre-school children. It is a joint arrangement between the Boroughs of Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Redcar and Cleveland.
