Performance Information
Stockton-on-Tees Register Office provides a wide range of services: from registering births and deaths, assisting with family history, providing marriage, civil partnership and citizenship ceremonies, to offering a variety of celebratory services, such as naming and renewal of vows ceremonies, civil funerals and memorial ceremonies. We are a busy, customer-focused team, aiming to provide a high quality, friendly and efficient service to a wide range of customers
As part of Civil Registration Modernisation we are being given greater freedom to deliver the local registration service, in a way that responds to the needs of our customers. Stockton Borough Council provides the service locally, and is supported by the Registrar General, who has responsibility for civil registration in England and Wales. Our joint aims are to ensure the delivery of our local service and encourage good practice. The Registrar General's Inspector undertakes a Service Delivery Inspection to assess our standards against the Government's Good Practice Guide, and reports on our service's organisational and technical aspects
On a daily basis, our own business management system and in-house Quality Assurance checks enable us to measure and improve our Service Delivery, ensuring a high standard for all customers
When measuring our delivery, the Service Delivery Inspection uses five Key Performance Indicators. The results are available to download below
