Scheme Overview

Thornaby Redevelopment

Details of the works

The works will replace deteriorating units with high quality units suitable for modern retailing requirements. This will attract and retain a good mix and quality of retailers, improving Thornaby's ability to compete with other Town Centres and secure its long term economic vitality and viability.

The works are scheduled to take place in two phases. Phase One, the demolition of Brus and Meynell Houses has already been completed and Phase Two has now commenced.

In addition to the main scheme of works Tees Active and the Council are currently undertaking a refurbishment programme of the Pavilion which will include the provision of a new gym.

Phase One

- Demolition of Brus House and Meynell House.
