La Ronde and Forum House

In March 2005 public consultation showed that the demolition of La Ronde and Forum House was considered to be one of the top 10 priorities for the people of Billingham.

In response to this, the Council secured funding and successfully demolished both of these derelict buildings which had created a negative image of Billingham. This demolition represents a major step forward for the regeneration of Billingham Town Centre.

The removal of these derelict buildings has visibly improved the town centre environment and represents the beginning of change to come, as the Council intends that the 'new space' created through the demolition should be incorporated into inspiring new plans for the town centre.

In the interim period the former area of Billingham House has been repaved and an additional 13 car park spaces have been created on the previous site of the derelict garages, which before demolition were located adjacent to La Ronde.
