Current developments in Billingham regeneration

Stockland have recently submitted a planning application for Phase 3 of the master plan - a new food store at the Eastern end if the Town Centre (adjacent to Argos).  The application can be viewed on the Council's planning portal.

Stockland have successfully obtained planning permission to implement Phase 1 of the master plan - the refurbishment of the former KwikSave unit.  The refurbishment works will commence later this autumn and Stockland are confident that they will shortly be able to announce the arrival of the new tenant.

Stockland are continuing negotiations with potential food store operators for a unit in the West Precinct, which would form Phase 1b of the master plan.

Refurbishment works on the external fabric of Block 10 (Barclays Bank block) are now complete and works are due to start in October on Block 11 (Dorothy Perkins, Town Centre Manager block).

Stockland have also invested in a new CCTV system which is now fully operational across the town centre.

Repair works on the spiral ramp started in mid September and should be complete in November.  In addition, Stockland intend to provide temporary public toilets in a vacant unit within the Western Precinct.

Newsletter updates from Stockland are available to review. It is expected that the physical redevelopment works will be complete by the end of 2012.
