June 2008 Negotiations with theatre preferred operator commenced

Early June 2008 Procurement Strategy and tender process finalised

Early June 2008 OJEU notice placed

Late June 2008 Sport England Bid submitted (Stage 1)

July 2008 Pre-planning discussions commenced

September - December 2008 Sport England bid (Stage 2) submitted

November 2008 Morgan Ashurst appointed as the contractor for stage one (Early Contractual Involvement)

November 2008 Detailed design and costing work starts with Morgan Ashurst

Spring 2009 Decision of Sport England Bid (Stage 2) received

Spring 2009 New theatre operator contract agreed

March 2009 Cabinet approval sought for final design & cost and to appoint contractor for stage two of the works (construction) and new theatre operator contract agreed

April 2009 Planning application submitted, and listed building consent sought

May 2009 Planning decision received

May 2009 Contractor for stage two (construction) appointed (subject to Planning & Cabinet approval)

June 2009 Detailed design and costing work completed and Forum closes on Tuesday 30th June

July 2009 Works on site have started

January 2011 Works are complete and the refurbished building reopens to the public (subject to programme)
