Consultation on Revised List of Local Validation Requirements for Planning Applications

The List of Local Validation Requirements tells applicants for planning permission what information is required for their application to be determined by the Council. The Council is consulting all interested parties on revisions which it proposes to make to this list. The revised list can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

The changes made to the revised List of Local Validation Requirements are intended to reduce ambiguity about what information is required to make a planning application valid and to ensure that the Local Planning Authority has sufficient information to confidently determine planning applications and is in accordance with Paragraph 193 of the National Planning Policy Framework that local planning authorities should only request supporting information that is relevant, necessary and material to the application.

The references to Planning Policy Guidance Notes have been removed replaced by the relevant paragraph in the National Planning Policy Framework.

Making the requirements clear and detailed from the outset will help the Council provide a fast and efficient service.

The List of Local Validation Requirements outlines the proposed revised local validation requirements of planning applications for Stockton Borough Council. Following consultation and any necessary amendments, these validation requirements will be required to be submitted as part of planning applications with effect from 31 July 2013

Public consultation for the Local List began on 18^th March 2013 and will end on 4.30 pm 1^st May 2013. All comments will be considered and reported to the Planning Committee for formal resolution and adoption.
