SERVICE DISRUPTION : The Public Access online planning system is experiencing a technical problem with the online map facility. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.                        

The Planning service deals with planning applications and associated matters, and also work on the Local Plan and new Local Development Framework, which sets out future planning policies and proposed land uses for the borough.  

There are two main areas of the Planning Section


The Development Control Section

The principal role of the Development Control section is to determine planning applications. Please note that the Public Access on-line service which allows you to apply, search for and comment on a planning application forms may not be available during the hours of 12.00 midnight to 6.00am due to the back-up of the councils servers.

The Spatial Planning Section (formerly Development Plans Team)

The principal role of the Spatial Planning section is to provide support and guidance to the Council by preparing and adopting planning policies and supplementary planning documents.

This section contains information about all aspects of planning services.  You will also find helpful information within the Planning Portal website.

 

There are also a number of services that are commonly mistaken for planning, but these are partner services. Information about these services may be found elsewhere on the Council's website by following the links to their pages below.
