Residents of the NM area experience worse levels of health than the borough and the national averages. Statistical evidence points to a higher number of people living with health issues and dying several years earlier than average. Research conducted by the North Tees Primary Care Trust indicates that residents in deprived areas seek treatment later than in other areas for issues such as Coronary Heart Disease. This can lead to less satisfactory treatment results.
