The Pathfinder funded ‘Operation Cubit’ in year one of the programme in conjunction with the DVLA, Council’s Community Protection and the multi-agency Arson Reduction Team. This removed untaxed and abandoned vehicles as an arson reduction measure. Regular operations without NM funding continue to maintain the improvements gained. Figures show a considerable drop in vehicle fires even after the NM funding has ceased, demonstrating sustainability.
