Welcome to the Parkfield and Mill Lane Neighbourhood Management webpages.
In discussion with Stockton Renaissance, the local Strategic Partnership, the Parkfield and Mill Lane area was chosen in 2002 as the location most in need of a Neighbourhood Management (NM) approach to tackle a wide range of deprivation issues.
At the start of the Pathfinder programme these included a high crime rate, some poor on-street terraced housing, low house prices and a range of environmental issues. Housing, crime and the physical environment were the top priorities for the Pathfinder.
The area has greatly benefitted from the range of interventions in these areas, such that the area is safer, eg a decrease of 31% in domestic burglary in the first two years of the Pathfinder’s operation. It is also cleaner, as the area now exceeds the Borough’s satisfaction average in street cleanliness. House prices have also risen considerably in some parts of the neighbourhood.
