When it comes to fishing, Stockton on Tees provides anglers of all abilities plenty of choice and a fantastic arena for your pleasure. We are keen to attract anglers of all ages and abilities back to our fabulous river.
Thanks to the Tees Barrage , the level of the River Tees up stream now remains constant and makes for a virtual stillwater giving ideal conditions for Bream, Roach and Perch. Salmon are also monitored and are making a good recovery.
There is a great head of Pike around the area now with fish well into double figures being caught regularly. It is the Bream though that has attracted anglers to the waters of Yarm and Stockton's Grade A 2 star river, a stocking policy some years ago set in motion the Bream revolution we are witnessing today with match catches now reaching into 40lb.
Please respect the working life of the countryside, as our actions can affect people's livelihoods, our heritage, and the safety and welfare of animals, the environment and ourselves.
