Sport England
Funding

Sports Development offers advice and support to organisations considering/pursuing external financial assistance from the range of funding currently available.

Awards For All

Awards for all is a grants programme set up to help community groups.

If you are a local group and you need between £300 and £10,000 Awards for All may be able to help you.

Awards for All can fund projects which involve people in their local community, bringing them together to take part in a range of arts, sport, heritage, charitable and other community activities.

Sometimes quite small sums of money can have a big impact. Awards for All aims to make a real difference to smaller groups and strengthen community activity.

  • You can apply at any time
  • The application form asks for basic information
  • You receive the result in 8 weeks

Contact the application line number (0845) 6002040 or at www.spawardsforall.org

Community Investment Fund

Sport England North East's community investment programme is now available.

Priority will be given to projects that most closely support the objectives laid out in the North East Plan for Sport and Physical Activity. Any application will need to ensure that it contributes towards these objectives. Priority will also be given to projects that can demonstrate they are:

  • Multi activity rather than single sport.
  • Target Sport England's priority groups.
  • Target residents from the worst 10% of wards in the country.
  • Are sustainable after the Lottery funding has finished.
  • That work with a range of partners (for example, clubs, local authorities, sport governing bodies, health, education).

Finally, the Government has stated that, for every £1 of lottery funding a further £2 must be acheived from other funding sources. Priority therefore will be given to schemes that deliver a high level of partnership funding. Awards will not normally be more than 33% of the total project cost, however the regional sports board can exceed this in exceptional circumstances at their discretion.
