Community Sports Leadership

Level 2 Award Launched

Sports Leaders Uk has worked very hard to achieve level 2 status for the Community Sports Leaders Award which was granted early this year. In order to gain the level 2 status the qualficiation has been amended to include first aid and progression. The majority of the qualification's content remains unchanged, although some units titles and learning outcomes have changed.

The Sports Development Team is to deliver its first Level 2 course in July and is planning to deliver the next starting in November. The courses which are funded through Neighbourhood Renewal Fund are free to residents of Stockton-on-Tees

The fun and practical course is open to people aged 16 and above, no previous experience is needed just the desire to deliver sport or physical activity for young people. The new award develops vital leadership skills such as communication, organisation and motivation, whilst instilling the confidence and desire in people to make a difference within their own community

If you would like to know more about the new level 2 award or would like to reserve a place on the next course please contact the Sports Development Team
