In the UK cardiac rehab is traditionally described in terms of recovery:
- Phase 1 is the inpatient stage.
- Phase 2 is the early discharge period.
- Phase 3 is the clinically supervised outpatient programme.
- Phase 4 is the long-term maintenance of physical activity and lifestyle change.
