Sports Infrastructure

The Community Sports Network is currently being re-developed to provide a stronger voice in relation to sport and active leisure for local people.

A Strategic Sports Network (SSN) will be established and embedded within the Local Strategic Partnership that will report through the Leisure and Culture Board which is the key strategic body for sport and active leisure.  The SSN will be made up of senior representatives from a wide range of stakeholders that will provide a more strategic co-ordination and planning for sport, physical activity and active recreation in Stockton-on-Tees.

Beneath the SSN will sit four Community Sports Networks (CSN's) that will be made up primarily of voluntary sector representation along with officers of the Council and partner organisations who are concerned with supporting the delivery of sport on the ground.  The CSN's will be co-terminus with the Area Partnership Boards and will provide a local voice, allowing them to influence sports policy and in turn to be advised and consulted on proposals for sporting development within the borough
