Sports Infrastructure

A Sports Network is currently being developed to provide a stronger voice in relation to sport and active leisure for local people.

A Strategic Sports Network (SSN) has been established and embedded within the Local Strategic Partnership reporting through the Leisure and Culture Board which is the key strategic body for sport and active leisure.  The SSN is made up of senior representatives from a wide range of stakeholders and provides a more strategic co-ordination and planning for sport, physical activity and active recreation in Stockton-on-Tees.

Beneath the SSN will sit a Community Sports Network (CSN) that will be made up primarily of voluntary sector representation along with officers of the Council and partner organisations who are concerned with supporting the delivery of sport on the ground.  The CSN will provide a local voice to influence sports policy and in turn to be advised and consulted on proposals for sporting development within the borough.
