Volunteers and coaches
Sport relies on the commitment of volunteers who give their time and energy to provide opportunities to people, and to ensure the continued success of clubs
Sports volunteering can cover a range of activities from coaching, player development, running training sessions through to club administration, fundraising and the organisation of events, competitions and leagues
By giving your time you can develop yourself in a number of different ways:
- Enhanced confidence and personal development opportunities
- Gaining experience in a variety of different roles
- Improving your life skills
- Making yourself more employable
- Gaining enjoyment and satisfaction of providing a service to others
- Developing your career, training and have the opportunity to achieve recognised qualifications
- Making lifelong friends through sport
- Being recognised as a valued member of the local community
Sporting activity and success would not be possible without the quality coaches, officials and volunteers. Sport needs all of us to help talented sports people to achieve their dreams. Volunteer; give your time and talent to the future champions of Stockton on Tees
If you would like to become a sports volunteer or if you are a coach, or are considering becoming one the Leisure and Sports Development Team are committed to supporting you. Our aim is to help our coaches, volunteers and officials develop their skills, knowledge and experience across all sports.
