Tutor Recruitment for the National PE and School Sport Professional Development Programme
* Are you interested in developing your skills as a tutor?
* Are you interested in becoming a tutor for the National PE Professional Development Programme?
The National PE and School Sport Professional Development Programme is one of the eight strands of the Government's PE and School Sport, Club Link (PESSCL) Strategy. The strategy seeks to develop an infrastructure that enables young people to meet the entitlement of a minimum of two hours each week of high quality PE and school sport. An important key to achieving the target to improve the quality of teaching, coaching and learning is through a National Professional Development Programme (NPDP) which provides teachers, coaches and AOTTS increased opportunities for professional development.
The delivery of the NPDP in Stockton-on-Tees is being co-ordinated by a Local Delivery Agency made up of partners including Stockton-on-Tees LEA, Sports Development, Specialist Sports Colleges, PDMs, Tees Valley Sport and Durham University. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in delivering high quality training in PE and School Sport. The focus of this programme is about professional development both for tutors and those who attend the courses.
* Professional development opportunities are available for new tutors who are interested in developing their skills with a view to becoming a paid tutor in the future.
* Funding is allocated for tutors to be released from their workplace and payment is made for planning and preparation.
* Modules could be delivered as a whole day, half day or twilight session.
Delivery commenced in January 2005 and funding is available for 2 years.
