Wuthering Heights
By Emily Bronte
I found it very hard going - quite dreary and depressing and nothing like I
was expecting, no passion or great feeling on show. The Yorkshire talk of
Joseph is difficult to understand 2/5
Difficult to understand Yorkshire dialect and follow the plot until I had
read half of book. Although it was written many years ago once I had
understood the plot I enjoyed the second half of the novel, and its
ultimate happy ending, as it had been quite dark at times 3/5
A book of its time, some would say great. I didn't/couldn't accept a lot of
the plot -it all seemed a bit silly and people overreacted to little
things. Also not much atmosphere - I expected lots of hauntings and
descriptions of the Moors. Not what I expected!! 2 1/2
