Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton.
The Borough of Stockton-on-Tees is rich in archaeological sites and 'finds'
and Tees Archaeology have carried out many excavations and surveys in the
area in recent years. Details of over 500 sites within the Borough are kept
on the Tees Archaeology Sites and Monument Record database at Sir William
Gray House, Hartlepool, together with a wide range of Ordnance Survey maps
and an extensive collection of aerial photographs and slides.
All information held on the Tees Archaeology Sites and Monuments Record
database, access to the maps, photographs and slides etc. is freely
available to the general public, the only restriction being that an
appointment must be made to visit the office between 9.00 a.m. and 4.00

Copies of a range of reports from many excavations and surveys carried out
in the Stockton area, such as the North Street, Stockton report, recording
the buildings of that street prior to their demolition, as well as from the
Boroughs of Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland, can be
purchased from Tees Archaeology at a very reasonable cost.
