New Resources

Stockton Museum Service has revamped many of our resources.

We are continuing to develop our loan box collection and outreach service so please contact us to find out what is available.

New Teacher Guide and Worksheets for Preston Hall Museum - Available immediately

You can now download our new and updated Teacher Guide to Preston Hall Museum. This guide contains historical background information about the Hall as well as an overview of the permanent exhibitions at the Museum. There are ideas for curriculum-linked discussion points, visit and post visit activities. There are also a number of new KS1 and KS2 General Worksheets to use in conjunction with the new guide.

You can download these resources for free from the "Education Resources, Workshops and Additional Services" page of this website.

Thread Bear's Washday

This story sack resource is available to pre-school and KS1 groups visiting Preston Hall Museum. You can book up to three sacks for your class. Each sack contains a large storybook about Thread Bear's Washday, a Thread Bear, and props from the story. This resource brings history alive - your group will love cuddling Thread Bear and hearing about how he washed his waist coat.

You can book this resource free of charge when booking your visit to Preston Hall Museum.

Anglo Saxon Activity Pack

This pack has been developed as a resource to explore our Anglo Saxon Face to Face exhibition. It includes everything you need to deliver our Careless Archaeologist Activity. Your class will help the hapharzard Dr Gerontius Stitch by recording and presenting his Anglo Saxon Archaeological finds. You can find out more about this resource on the "Education Resources, Workshops and Additional Services" page of this website.
