Local History Information

The history of Stockton-on-Tees is the story of its people, their hopes for the future and the struggle to provide for their families. In these pages you will be drawn into the story of a few of the more notable events in our history.

However, not all of Stockton's history was written by the great and the good, the real histories are the hidden stories of its inhabitants whether famous or not.

If you have one of these hidden stories why not write it down and email it to the museum service.
