The pioneering Games Workshop Club, formerly known as LOTR (Lord of the Rings), now has a new name, The Citadel of Gaming. This was the winning entry by the winner, Phillip Adnett. The Citadel of Gaming continues to meet once a month at Stockton Central Library, and has continued to gain in popularity since it's beginning in September 2003.
Gaming is based on the Lord of the Rings game, brought out to celebrate the trilogy of award winning films and the associated books by Tolkien, and Warhammer 40,000, a science fiction fantasy-based game.
Formerly run by staff at the Middlesbrough Games Workshop plc store in partnership with the library, it is now self-run along with supervision by library staff and parent volunteers. These games are aimed at young people aged 9 years and over.
If you fancy battling as your favourite character from Lord of the Rings or being a space marine in Warhammer 40K, then this is the club for you!
The sessions are free and take place in Stockton Central Library every first and third Saturday of each month, from 11.00am until 2.00pm. No booking necessary.
Be there or be a space zombie!
