Fairfield Library is situated in the western suburbs of Stockton, at the junction of Fairfield Road, Greens Lane and Oxbridge Lane (next to Ian Ramsey School). It is conveniently situated for residents of the Fairfield, Hartburn, Oxbridge and Bishopsgarth areas as well as the villages to the west of Stockton, e.g. Carlton, Elton, Long Newton and Redmarshall.

Direct and frequent bus services provide a link to and from all major population centres within the Borough. Although within a residential area, the library looks out upon the Green's Beck Valley, an undeveloped area of fields and woodland.

Access:Parking is permitted in the car park of the Fairfield Public House, adjacent to the library in Fairfield Road.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 10.00 am - 7.00 pm
Thursday & Saturday: 10.00 am - 12.30 pm

All libraries have:
Adult, Teenage and Children's Fiction (Story) and Non-Fiction (Fact) Books; Large Print Books; a Core Reference Collection and a Core Local History Collection

All libraries also have access to:
CD-ROMs; Ethnic Books (some dual language books), Ethnic Music CDs and Cassettes plus Videos; Language Courses; Music Cassettes; Open Learning Courses; Sub-titled Videos for the Deaf and Children's Videos; Adult/Junior DVDs and Playstation 2 Games.

Fairfield Library also has:

  • Audio material including Music CDs; Talking Books for Adults; Children's and Teenager's Stories on tape and CD
  • An Environmental Collection
  • Goods for Sale: Floppy discs 59p; Envelopes 7p; Plastic Wallets 6p; Pens 29p

  • Junior Video and DVD collection
  • Internet - FREE!! Please book a session (up to an hour) and if no one else wants to use the PC you may stay for longer. Access for job seekers remains free and unlimited but please book too. To book a PC contact the library on 01642 527962 or e-mail the address shown. Black and white printing is 10p per sheet; for job-seeking purposes 5p; free to children for homework purposes
    To use the Internet in any Stockton Borough Library / OTC you are required to read, sign and abide by our acceptable use policy.
  • Microsoft Office facilities [MS Office] - Word (word processing); Access (databases); Excel (spreadsheets); Powerpoint (presentations). No charge except for printouts: Colour 35p/concession 20p. Black & White: 10p / Black & White CVs, job seeking letters etc. 5p per sheet if unwaged.
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • Photocopier: Multiple copies: over 20 pages 8p per copy/ over 50 pages 5p per copy. A4 10p per sheet; A3 20p per sheet; CVs, Job seeking letters etc. 5p per sheet if unwaged. Free to children for homework purposes.
  • Screen printouts from Library system PC's: 10p per page.
  • Theatre tickets booking facility: Forum Theatre, Billingham - No extra charge made to book through Libraries.
  • Webcam - Please book a session (up to an hour) and if no one else wants to use the PC you may stay for longer.
