Bookstart Book Crawl

BookCrawl logo
The Bookstart Book Crawl is a library joining incentive for early years children from 0-5 years.

The Book Crawl, which is available at every Stockton Borough Library, is aimed at pre-school children and encourages them to join the library, receive a Book Crawl card and after having it stamped on six visits, they are presented with a special certificate designed by a well-known illustrator.

Many parents are unaware that their babies can have their own library cards from birth and that libraries welcome families with very young children and offer a varied selection of board books and picture books. The only requirements are that children must be library members in their own right.

Stockton Borough Libraries also run the Bookstart Scheme, which provides every baby with a free pack of books at the 7-9month, 18-35 month and 3 year stage. These packs are delivered via Libraries, Health Visitors and Schools.
