The description of the fate of once prosperous people forced to abandon their country and the way they coped in America, keeping up their dignity in poor circumstances was well portrayed. We hear of refugees daily in the news. This story brought home to me how hard it must be to cope with the many changes. 4/5
A harrowing story but gripping. Love /hate, courage /cowardice, loyalty /guilt etc etc it's all there. 4/5
Liked the insight into life and customs in Afghanistan, the relationships between characters and the differences between Afghan and Western customs and culture. Very enjoyable read. 4/5
