The aim of Stockton-on-Tees Youth Service is to educate, support and empower young people in their transition to adulthood.

Objectives

  • To contribute to Connexions by providing information, advice and support to young people.
  • To develop and support youth democracy and citizenship locally, regionally and nationally.
  • To engage more hard to reach young people through intervention and prevention programmes.
  • To develop, implement and publicise a co-ordinated programme of activities for young people.
  • To develop a vibrant, high quality, voluntary youth sector.
  • To seek continuous improvement through a rigorous quality assurance scheme.
  • To maximise funding from external sources for activities that contribute to delivering the Service Plan.
  • To communicate the work of the Service to increase awareness and to raise the profile of the Service.

The Service works in partnership with voluntary sector agencies, other Council Departments and schools to ensure the most effective and efficient use of resources. All Service outcomes and targets are aimed at improving the opportunities and life chances of the young people of Stockton-on-Tees.
