WORKSTEP
WHAT IS WORKSTEP?
Disabled people often face complex barriers to finding and keeping a job, with the right support they can realise their full potential in a wide range of jobs.
HOW DOES WORKSTEP WORK?
WORKSTEP can offer a range of support, advice and practical help to employers in developing their employees to their full potential including open employment where appropriate.
Whilst at work supported employees should have opportunities to develop and gain job skills in order to achieve realistic occupational goals, with progression to unsupported employment for those who are able to do so.
WORKSTEP can also provide support to enable eligible individuals to retain their job if they are otherwise unable to continue work, as a result of a newly acquired or existing disability.
Supported employees must work on equal terms with others. They must be paid the appropriate rate for the job and have the same terms and conditions as other employees in their workplace.
