Inclusion Quality Mark for Stockton schools
Stockton has a strong commitment to Inclusion. We believe that inclusion must be at the heart of all our policies and practice in Stockton for there to be equal opportunities for all in our schools and with other education providers. It is important, therefore, to recognise those areas where opportunities may not be equal.
The Inclusion Quality Mark award scheme, launched July 2010, was developed to support this commitment to inclusion.
What is the Inclusion Quality Mark?
The Stockton Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) is a self-evaluation award achievable at three different levels and aims to:
- Raise the profile and increase understanding of inclusion
- Improve inclusive practice (No Child Left Behind)
- Strengthen school self-evaluation, improvement and staff development
- Celebrate good inclusive practice
The IQM is practical and asks schools to reflect, examine and make judgements through sets of key questions across 13 standards linked to the SEF framework.
The IQM is awarded at 3 levels graduated between Bronze for a school which is beginning to focus on inclusion through to Gold which celebrates the school as demonstrating outstanding inclusive practice.
How many schools are involved?
