Music Curriculum Delivery
Music Curriculum Delivery for Key Stage 1 and 2
This involves a teacher from TVMS, experienced in class teaching, taking
responsibility for the delivery of the National Curriculum for Music with
some (e.g. Key Stage 2) or all classes. It should be noted that the DfES
recommends a minimum allocation for pupils of 45 minutes per week.
In a full day the TVMS teacher works with up to six groups (class or
interest groups) dependant on the timing of the school day, assembly time
etc. By negotiation, the time might also be used for extra-curricular
activities such as recorder groups, choir or involvement in
performances.
The TVMS teacher provides the necessary evidence of planning, schemes of
work and assessment opportunities, and liaises with class teachers with
regard to reporting to parents.
This is contracted for the whole year and is available for 12 weeks each
term in either full day or half-day units.
Details of costs, can be obtained from Chris Lewis, Central
Development Coordinator. Tel. No 01642 603600 or email TVMS@stockton.gov.uk.
